Nick Saban is the greatest to ever do it when it comes to college football.
But often in coaching, a coach’s wife is just as critical to the success of a program in terms of the amount of sacrifices they have to make in order to allow the coach to make the program the best it can possibly be.
And nobody exemplified that sacrifice better than Nick Saban’s wife, famously and affectionately known as Miss Terry.
During an appearance with the Next Round, Lance Taylor got to ask Kristen Saban, their daughter, about a myriad of topics. Taylor opined that there are many wives doing great things behind the scenes — but that Terry Saban was at the forefront. Her daughter agreed.

“It seems like they [coach’s wives], there are so many that are behind the scenes, but your mom Terry, she was very exposed and somebody that was the the forefront a lot,” Taylor said, adding that it seemed like she at least embraced the important role.
“Yeah, she definitely did and she was very good at it. She’s the best coach’s wife that has ever existed really with all she has done,” Saban said.
Miss Terry has been huge in charitable areas in Tuscaloosa, helping to dedicate 21 Habitat for Humanity homes for those less fortunate in Tuscaloosa.

The Nick’s Kids foundation that she essentially runs has been spectacular for the city as well. “To work together in the spirit of faith and giving in our community. To promote and support children, family, teacher and student causes,” the charity’s mission statement says.
Even as her husband has retired, Miss Terry will continue to do everything she can from a charity perspective. Nick Saban might be the greatest of all time. But behind all of the magic is a wife who is the greatest of all time in her own right.
