While speaking on his WJOX program, McElroy and Cubelic in the Morning, former Alabama quarterback and SEC analyst Greg McElroy made major waves after sharing intel from a source who is “in the know” that believes Nick Saban might return to the world of coaching.

While the development alone was a massive headline, Ole Miss head coach and former Saban understudy Lane Kiffin poured gasoline on the fire yesterday when he shared his belief that Saban could come back.

“I wouldn’t be surprised,” he said. “I kinda always thought that was gonna happen. I kind of thought it would happen after one year. First of all, I have no knowledge that he’s coming back. But he’s so sharp still. I almost feel like it’s a waste that he’s not. No disrespect to the media and what you guys do, but his ability to coach players and change lives is so good. I just think he’ll be back, whether that’s NFL or college.”

While Saban making his return would be one of the biggest stories in the history of college football, it certainly doesn’t sound like Kiffin would be shocked if the coaching legend chooses to come back to the sport.
