Having resided in Alabama since 1971, McFeeters co-founded an insurance agency in 1981 near Birmingham. With over four decades in the insurance industry, he has also been actively involved in state politics, notably serving as the president of the Mid-Alabama Republican Club. In 2024, McFeeters ran for Alabama’s 6th Congressional District, securing 6% of the vote in the Republican primary.

McFeeters’ gubernatorial campaign is centered on several key initiatives:

  • Educational Reform: He advocates for an overhaul of the state’s education system, emphasizing discipline, critical thinking, and practical skills. McFeeters proposes integrating former military personnel into schools to restore order and discipline.

  • Economic Independence: Aiming to reduce Alabama’s reliance on external entities, he supports initiatives for local production of food, medicine, and energy, promoting a self-sustaining economy.

  • Challenging Established Interests: McFeeters is critical of longstanding political and corporate influences in Alabama, asserting that they prioritize power and wealth over the needs of citizens. He pledges to confront these entities to ensure governance that serves the populace.

  • Pro-Freedom Policies: His platform includes resisting overarching agendas that he believes threaten individual liberties and state sovereignty.

The Alabama Republican primary is scheduled for May 19, 2026. McFeeters will face off against U.S. Senator Tommy Tuberville.
