Thursday, Republican U.S. Senate hopeful Katie Britt released her campaign’s second broadcast television advertisement of the 2022 GOP primary election cycle.
In her ad, titled “Man Up,” Britt blasts President Joe Biden and White House chief medical adviser Dr. Anthony Fauci over COVID-19 pandemic-related school and business closures.
The first-time candidate also touts her record as CEO of the Business Council of Alabama, where Britt led efforts to shield the state from government-mandated COVID-19 lockdowns and worked alongside members of the rural small business community to reopen the state’s economy during the early stages of the pandemic.
“This is what liberals want every classroom in America to look like,” Britt says in the ad while standing in an empty classroom. “Biden and Fauci want to shut everything down, steal our freedoms and lecture us about right or wrong. At the business council, I told Fauci to stay out of Alabama because we are open for work. And in the Senate, I’ll tell all those boys in Washington to man up, get our economy going, and get kids and God back in the classroom. I’m Katie Britt, and I approved this message, and I’ll fight to preserve our freedoms.”
Watch:
The 30-second spot will run statewide on cable and satellite, as well as digital mediums.
Britt in a statement took aim at “liberal elites” former President Barack Obama and U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), who were both recently spotted unmasked in public, over what she deemed to be their hypocrisy over their support of COVID-19 protocols.
“I’m tired of out-of-touch liberal elites and Washington bureaucrats stealing our freedoms and trying to impose unlawful mandates on Alabamians that they themselves don’t follow,” asserted Britt. “From Obama’s birthday to AOC partying in Miami to the Super Bowl this past weekend, it is clear that they don’t think their own rules apply to them.”
She added, “Meanwhile, Joe Biden’s radical agenda continues to march us closer to socialism while destroying our economy, causing inflation to skyrocket, sending the national debt over $30 trillion, opening our border, and projecting weakness for our enemies to prey upon across the globe.”
Britt called for the end of government-instituted COVID-19 mandates and returning the nation to pre-pandemic norms.
“As Alabama’s next U.S. Senator, I will fight tirelessly for hardworking Alabama families, defend our Christian conservative values, and preserve the country we know and love for our children and our children’s children. It’s time to unmask our kids, return to in person learning, end all of the mandates, and get America back to work,” concluded Britt.
