Katie Britt to deliver GOP vision for the American Dream in tonight’s address

Tonight, Alabama U.S. Senator Katie Britt will deliver the official GOP response to President Joe Biden’s 2024 State of the Union address immediately following his speech.

Britt’s presence as the youngest Republican woman elected to the U.S. Senate, and the only current mother of school-aged children in the Senate is being hailed as the starkest possible contrast to Biden, 81, both as leader of the Democratic party and as President of the United States.

“The American people will tune in as the youngest Republican woman ever elected to the Senate turns the page on the oldest President in history,” Speaker of the House Mike Johnson said of Britt.

Britt’s remarks are expected to converge on that presence as a compelling voice for the Republican Party as lawmakers demand action on a wide range of challenges that Britt routinely lambasts Biden as incapable of addressing.

“The American Dream is a timeless promise – one that says if you work hard and seize opportunity, you can achieve more than your parents before you,” Britt wrote in her endorsement of Donald Trump last year. “That’s the Dream that allowed me, a public-school girl from Alabama’s Wiregrass region and the daughter of two small business owners, to be elected to the U.S. Senate at age 40.”

“However, that American Dream has turned into a nightmare for so many families under the Biden Administration. If people across our country don’t wake up and step up, the Dream may be a mere memory.”

The 2024 State of the Union Address will be broadcast on Tuesday night at 8 p.m.
