U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) is calling out the Democrats’ hypocrisy in trying to claim that Elon Musk is acting like a “co-president.”
Many Democrats say they aren’t happy with some of the recent actions taken by Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). President Donald Trump has tasked the billionaire with heading the newly created organization in order to cut government waste, fraud, and abuse.
“Conversations about a co-president, referencing Elon Musk, referencing the work that Doge is doing. I think it’s important to remember that President Trump ran on this,” Britt said during a Senate Banking Committee hearing Tuesday. “I mean, he said we’re going to look for wasteful spending across our government. We’re $36 trillion in debt, you’ll that’s not only fiscally irresponsible, it is actually morally irresponsible.”

Says Jill Biden, Jake Sullivan far more deserving of “co-president” title than Musk.

The Senator said that members of the opposing party should have been more outraged at what was occurring under the Biden administration.
“And the difference in this administration in the last administration is that President Trump is actually the final arbiter,” she argued. “And it’s interesting that none of you had anything to say over the last four years when it is clear that our commander-in-chief was not in command. And if we’re going to use the term co-president, then let’s go back and say co-president Jake Sullivan, co-president Ron Klain, co-president Jill Biden. I mean, it seems that some of the biggest decisions were made during the President’s afternoon nap time conversation.”
Britt also took to social media and said it’s good that America has “a true Commander in Chief again.”
We had co-presidents for four years—Jill Biden, Jake Sullivan, Ron Klain just to name a few.
Now that President Trump is back in office, we have a true Commander in Chief again. Democrats can’t stand his team is helping execute his agenda and fulfill his electoral mandate. https://t.co/C8KNQpqyjn
