TIME magazine on Wednesday named U.S. Senator Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) to its 2026 TIME100 Next list of the 100 most influential rising stars in the world.
They credited the Enterprise native for a family policy record, who has become “an increasingly consequential player in the Senate.”
“Senator Katie Britt has quickly learned how to wield influence in Donald Trump’s Republican Party while avoiding its hardest edges,” TIME staff writer Nik Popli wrote.
The magazine pointed to her push for President Donald Trump to protect in vitro fertilization after the Alabama Supreme Court’s 2024 embryo ruling, her work to expand child care tax credits and her legislation with Democrats to protect children from social media.
Trump has told the IVF story himself. Britt called him days after the February 2024 ruling, and he has given her the credit in public ever since.
“She’s the one that got me into this, I have to tell you,” Trump said of Britt at an Oval Office maternal health event in May.
The child care piece became law last year. Britt secured updates to the child care tax credits in the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which she has called the first permanent child care tax relief in nearly 25 years. Britt said at the time that “child care is not a partisan issue, it’s a parents’ issue.”
On social media, Britt introduced the Kids Off Social Media Act with U.S. Senators Brian Schatz (D-Hawaii), Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and Chris Murphy (D-Connecticut).
The bill would bar children under 13 from social media platforms and ban algorithmic targeting of users under 17. Britt has said the issue is “something my own kids and their friends have to contend with every day.”

TIME also noted that Britt has strongly backed Trump’s agenda, including on immigration, and that U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell (R-Kentucky) invited her into his weekly leadership meetings as an adviser shortly after her 2022 election.
That election made her Alabama’s first elected female U.S. Senator and the youngest Republican woman ever elected to the chamber.
Britt is the only Republican member of Congress among the U.S. political figures TIME highlighted in its announcement.
The other three lawmakers are Democrats: U.S. Senator Andy Kim (D-New Jersey), U.S. Representative Jake Auchincloss (D-Massachusetts) and U.S. Representative Maxwell Frost (D-Florida).
The full list also includes quarterback Arch Manning and country singer Megan Moroney.
TIME will honor the list at an event in New York City on October 29.
