Katie Britt calls Iran leader’s endorsement of U.S. college campus protests ‘disgusting’

U.S. Sen Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) once again blasted the anti-Israel protests on college campuses after they received an endorsement from the leader of Iran.

Sayyid Ali Khamenei, Iran’s Supreme Leader, posted on X Wednesday, praising the students who have been occupying universities because of Israel’s war against Hamas in Gaza.

“Dear university students in the United States of America, you are standing on the right side of history,” Khamenei said. “You have now formed a branch of the Resistance Front and have begun an honorable struggle in the face of your government’s ruthless pressure – which openly supports Zionists.”

Britt reacted to the comments Thursday on WVNN’s “The Yaffee Program.”

“Can you even believe it?” Britt asked. “Honestly, I think you have to reevaluate your life choices when you’re standing with the Ayatollah…This is clearly the Supreme Leader of Iran. Iran is the largest state sponsor of terrorism across the globe. They fund Hamas, who’s responsible for the October that barbaric attacks of October 7 there in Israel. They fund Hezbollah in Lebanon, they fund the Houthis in Yemen, their proxies are responsible for attacking US troops over 200 times since October 7. And here you have him giving an endorsement. I mean…this isn’t an endorsement that any sane American should want. But here we are in the fourth year of the Biden administration, and you have some on the left, along with the Ayatollah supporting the same movement. It’s disgusting.”

The senator also criticized the Biden administration for appeasing to the Iranian regime.

“This administration seems to find ways to allow them to circumvent, or ease, or let sanctions expire in the midst of all of this,” she explained. “I mean, if you think about the appeasement, the weakness of this administration, it has clearly emboldened our enemies, and it’s undermined our credibility across the globe. And when you have the Ayatollah saying, I stand with US students, and I stand with US professors. I mean, it’s crazy. It’s shameful. It’s, it’s un-American.”

Britt believes Biden’s weakness is partly because he’s become too beholden to the radical left in his own party.

“And you think about how far left the Democratic Party has gone that the Ayatollah is standing shoulder to shoulder with you, that should send shivers down the spine of every American who loves this nation and who believes in its preservation,” she said. “And obviously, Joe Biden is not only an ineffective leader here in this nation, but his weakness is being taken advantage of by our greatest adversaries across the globe.”
