In a world where job seekers often feel overwhelmed by the daunting process of finding meaningful work, Kacey Taylor’s story shines as a beacon of hope and resilience. Thanks to the Alabama Talent Triad, Kacey not only found her next opportunity but also discovered a platform that values skills and determination over a resume.
Kacey’s journey from job seeker to Community Engagement Specialist is nothing short of inspiring. A mother, grandmother, educator, and lifelong learner, Kacey understands firsthand the challenges of returning to the workforce, even with advanced degrees and certifications. After earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in business administration with a focus on information technology from the University of North Alabama, Kacey worked as a substitute instructor for Huntsville Public Schools while pursuing her doctoral degree at Walden University.
However, despite her academic achievements and professional experience, finding a role that matched her skills proved to be a challenge. During her search, she stumbled upon the Alabama Talent Triad by accident. Initially, Kacey thought signing up was an employment requirement, but she soon realized it was so much more – a platform where skills take center stage.
“I didn’t think much would come out of it, to tell you the truth,” Kacey shared. “I was just following the process, thinking it was part of unemployment. Then I got an email from the VP [of the Alabama Talent Triad], and I was shocked! I was like, ‘Wait a minute! I thought I had to search for jobs on here like you normally do.’ Never had someone reached out to me saying, ‘Hey, I saw your profile and wanted to talk to you.’ That was different.”
Kacey’s stellar record and unique journey quickly caught the attention of the Alabama Talent Triad team, leading to a direct contact from Greg DiDonato, Vice President of EBSCOed.
“Kacey’s experiences, skills, and amazing story will truly resonate with so many Alabamians,” noted DiDonato. “Her journey exemplifies the power of the Alabama Talent Triad in connecting job seekers with meaningful opportunities. We are honored to have Kacey on board.”
Today, as a Community Engagement Specialist, she connects with students, job seekers, and employers to demonstrate how the Alabama Talent Triad is transforming the way Alabamians discover opportunities.
Kacey believes in the power of persistence
“It doesn’t matter where you start. It’s more important how you finish,” she emphasized.
Kacey’s story serves as a reminder that the path to professional success isn’t always linear and that, sometimes, the right opportunity finds you when you least expect it. She now advocates for the Alabama Talent Triad, helping others find the same sense of direction and belonging that she did.
For those navigating career changes or looking to take control of their futures, Kacey’s story is proof that persistence pays off – and that the Alabama Talent Triad can be the bridge to new possibilities.
