John Wahl, former ALGOP Chairman and current candidate for lieutenant governor, has released his first campaign video with the message that he is President Donald Trump’s preferred candidate in the election contest.
“John has been with us from the very beginning, and has been key to our many Republican Victories in the Great State of Alabama,” President Trump said in the video.
Trump endorsed Wahl in a Truth Social post, one day before Wahl says he made a final decision on entering the contest late last month.
In the latest Alabama poll, Secretary of State Wes Allen is still ahead of Wahl in the race by 17 points, 23 percent to 6 percent, with 59 percent of voters undecided.
Titled “Fighting for Alabama’s Future,” the campaign video outlines Wahl’s conservative vision for the state and underscores his commitment to faith, family, freedom, and commonsense leadership rooted in Alabama values.
“As chairman of the Alabama Republican Party, I’ve been on the front lines as we defend our values and fight for our freedoms,” Wahl says in the video. “Alabama deserves bold, principled leadership that puts families first, defends our God-given rights, and restores limited government.”
Wahl also argues that his campaign is about doing what’s best for Alabama families and helping to preserve American values for the next generation.
“This campaign is about protecting our values, strengthening our state, and leading the nation with commonsense policies that restore the American Dream.” he said. “Now more than ever, we must stand strong for our shared values, defend the freedoms that make Alabama exceptional, and ensure government works for the people—not the other way around.”
“I’m running to serve the people of Alabama and to fight for a future our children and grandchildren can be proud of,” he added.
