The Republican Secretaries of State Committee (RSSC), which is a caucus of the Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC), this week announced its executive committee for 2021.
Alabama Secretary of State John H. Merrill has once again been chosen as the chair of the national group. He was originally elected to this role for the 2020 election cycle. This will now be his second term.
The remainder of RSSC’s 2021 executive committee membership is as follows:
Tennessee Secretary of State Tre Hargett, Vice Chair
Kentucky Secretary of State Michael G. Adams, Finance Chair
Florida Secretary of State Laurel Lee, Member at Large
Mississippi Secretary of State Michael Watson, Member at Large
Montana Secretary of State Christi Jacobsen, Member at Large
Ohio Secretary of State Frank LaRose, Member at Large
West Virginia Secretary of State Mac Warner, Engagement Co-Chair
Washington Secretary of State Kim Wyman, Engagement Co-Chair
“Together, we will continue to identify best practices related to protecting the security of the elections process and encourage our respective state legislatures to adopt bills aimed at making it easier to vote and harder to cheat,” stated Merrill. “Based on their successful experiences in administering the 2020 Election Cycle, this group of leaders has proven they are qualified to restore confidence in our elections and increase the integrity of the process.”
