Jim Jordan endorses Gary Palmer in Alabama – ‘a good man who fights a good fight’

Congressman Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) was in Elmore County on Saturday to address a gathering of Republicans sponsored by Alabama cotton farmers.

Jordan was there to support incumbent Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) — thanking the cotton farmers and River Region Republicans for their work in helping to reelect Palmer.

“Thank you first of all for being willing to get in the game to help a good man stay in the United States Congress,” Jordan told the crowd of over 100. “I love this guy. It is so important that we have good people with common sense engaged in the political process.”

Jordan was the founding Chairman of the House Freedom Caucus and is the present Chairman of the House Judiciary Committee.

“I tell folks that there are folks in politics that you are glad chose public service, like Gary Palmer,” Jordan said. “He is a good man who fights a good fight.”

Jordan said Joe Biden’s weakness and perception of weakness around the world has encouraged our enemies to attack. Jordan stressed the importance of re-elected former President Donald J. Trump to the White House.

“When America is leading, when we are strong. it is a much better world when we are leading and that is why everyone…..everyone who cares about America needs to be engaged in helping  Gary Palmer go back to Congress and helping Donald Trump get back to the White House so we can save America,” Jordan told the crowd.

Jordan said that the fight in Washington “Is not a fight between Republicans and Democrats; but a fight between normal and crazy.” Jordan said that House Republicans believe in a border, the current Democrats do not. The Republican believe that men should not compete in women’s sports – the Democrats believe otherwise.

Palmer said that he was among the circle of advisors who were advising Trump on energy policy and the importance of critical minerals. Palmer also criticized Biden’s decision to halt the construction of new liquified natural gas facilities.

Palmer said he and Jordan joined the Speaker of the House Mike Johnson on a recent tour of the border situation, but not House Democrats would come.

Jordan said that if Biden gets a second term, at his current pace of resettling migrants across America, he would import over 12 million into the country – “That is the population of Ohio.”

Elmore and Autauga counties are new to the Sixth Congressional District. There were moved from the Second Congressional District to CD6 in court ordered redistricting that occurred late last summer.

Palmer joked that he was still trying to introduce himself to residents of the new southern end of his district. He assured them that he already has experience working hard for Alabama farmers.

Palmer supported Jordan in his bid for Speaker of the House in October. Jordan ultimately was unsuccessful in that effort as some GOP moderates would not support Jordan.

Palmer, who is serving in his fifth term in the House of Representatives representing Alabama’s Sixth Congressional District, is facing a rare stiff Republican primary challenge from automotive businessman Gerrick Wilkins and insurance salesman Ken McFeeters.

Jordan, earlier in the day, attended an event in South Alabama where he endorsed Congressman Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) in Alabama’s First Congressional District.
