Huntsville-based Radiance Technologies has appointed former U.S. Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama and Marine Corps veteran, Jay Town, as the company’s new Chief Compliance Officer.

Town first relocated to the Rocket City in 2005 as a prosecutor in the Madison County District Attorney’s Office. Before his time in Alabama, Town served as outside counsel for a large commercial defense firm headquartered in the New Jersey area.

As Radiance’s CCO, he will be overseeing compliance operations, managing regulatory relationships with government agencies, and enhancing the company’s risk management capabilities.

“We are excited to welcome Jay to the Radiance family,” said Radiance CEO Bill Bailey. “His significant legal experience and acumen will assure that Radiance maintains its high levels of compliance while protecting the cutting-edge solutions developed by Radiance. His proven leadership will be instrumental in enhancing our capabilities and assuring the long-term success of our company.”

Town revealed the news in a post on social media late last week.

During his time as United States Attorney for the Northern District of Alabama from 2017 to 2021, Town led federal prosecutions and coordinated with federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies. He participated in the Department of Justice’s China Initiative, addressing economic espionage matters, and served on the President’s Commission on Law Enforcement and the Administration of Justice.

Town served as a senior prosecutor in the Madison County District Attorney’s Office for thirteen years. He began his legal career as a Judge Advocate in the United States Marine Corps, serving for twelve years and achieving the rank of Major.

Town holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Notre Dame and a Juris Doctor from Seton Hall University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in Indiana, New Jersey, and Alabama, as well as before the United States Supreme Court.

Town was one of the first three U.S. Attorneys nominated by President Donald J. Trump on June 12, 2017. Town was confirmed by the U.S. Senate on August 3, 2017, and sworn in on August 11, 2017.

It’s not the first time Town has been named to a top-ranking position at a Huntsville corporation. In 2020, he was hired on at Gray Analytics as the company’s Vice President and General Counsel.
