The Auburn Tigers earned their first SEC victory last weekend on the road over the Kentucky Wildcats, moving to a 3-5 record for the season and 1-4 in the SEC.
Even with the victory, it’s going to be a long road for the Tigers to make a bowl game. The team needs to win three of their last four games to earn eligibility. That could be a tall order for Auburn given that two of those matchups are against Texas A&M and Alabama. The Tigers will also have to take on a Vanderbilt team this weekend that has proven its resiliency and tenacity after taking down the Crimson Tide in a historical upset.
Despite the long odds, superstar running back Jarquez Hunter told SEC Network’s Paul Finebaum that his team is ready for the challenge:
"We're ready to play our heart out."

“Everybody was so happy, it’s just so much better to finally get a win,” Hunter said of the Kentucky game. “Going forward, we can get many more wins if we just play together as a team and play together as one…We gotta go out there with our head up and our head forward, we have to finish and go out there and play our heart out…We gotta go out there and do our job as a team, play our hardest and be the best we can be on Saturday.”
Hunter had a ridiculous 278 yards on the ground last week against Kentucky and will now try to follow that up against Vanderbilt this Saturday at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
