Jackson Arnold on Auburn team struggles: ‘If you don’t wanna be here, then don’t be here’

The Auburn Tigers are headed into a game against Missouri which is as must-win as they come following a dramatic and controversial defeat against the Georgia Bulldogs.

It’s been a turbulent week for the Tigers, losing a captain under still mysterious circumstances after running back Damari Alston apparently tried to red shirt and was denied, not to mention the noise starting to surround their head coach and whether or not his job is safe.

Clearly though, the locker room still has faith ahead of another night game in Jordan-Hare, and quarterback Jackson Arnold made that clear while speaking to media after practice about the upcoming showdown against their fellow Tigers from Columbia.

Despite three straight losses, Arnold has rallied the crew and has his team believing they can grab a victory this week.

“Look, it sucks having three losses in a row,” Arnold said. “But for us, if you don’t wanna be here, then don’t be here. For those guys that wanna stay hungry and stay in the fight, they’re gonna come back to work and go out and try to get a win. That’s our mindset every week, to go out and dominate and try to get a win.”

Whether Arnold proves to be correct remains to be seen, but the locker room still believing they can get it done is a major green flag that Freeze still has control of this team.
