Ivey TV ad touts record-low unemployment, economic gains — ‘The best is yet to come’

Gov. Kay Ivey’s reelection campaign on Monday released its latest television advertisement of the 2022 GOP primary election cycle, which features the governor touting the economic achievements Alabama has notched under her administration.

In the 30-second spot, Ivey details that her administration has presided over the creation of more than 50,000 new jobs, with $25 billion worth of capital investment pouring into the state since she has occupied the governor’s mansion. Alabama last month tied its lowest unemployment rate ever recorded, dropping to 2.9%.

“I’m Kay Ivey, and I love Alabama,” the governor says in the ad. “The past four years we have created thousands of new jobs, built the best business climate in all 50 states, and delivered the lowest unemployment in 202 years of trying. We’ve got a lot more to do here in Alabama, but there’s no step too high for a high stepper. Alabama is working again, and the best is yet to come.”

Watch:

In a statement accompanying the ad release, Ivey campaign manager William Califf asserted that Alabama’s economic environment was why the governor holds a commanding lead in the polls.

“With the best business environment in the entire nation, Alabama’s economy is thriving,” stated Califf. “Governor Ivey’s economic success speaks for itself – look at the thousands of new jobs and new investments into our economy and infrastructure. Governor Ivey has stood up for and defended our conservative values. This is why Kay Ivey has such an overwhelming lead in the polls – actions speak louder than words – and while others talk, our Governor has consistently delivered for the people of our state.”
