Dr. Ken Rivenbark, owner of Rivenbark & Roper Antiques in Huntsville, has been named to the National Small Business Association (NSBA) Leadership Council Advisory Board.
NSBA is the nation’s oldest small-business advocacy organization and operates on a strictly nonpartisan basis, according to a press release. Rivenbark, a recognized leader in the Tennessee Valley small-business community, joins the NSBA Leadership Council alongside other small- business advocates from across the nation as they work to promote the interests of small business to federal policymakers.
“As a small-business owner, I see daily the importance of being involved and active when it comes to laws and regulation,” Rivenbark remarked. “Joining NSBA’s Leadership Council will enable me to take our collective small-business message to the people that need to hear it most: Congress.”
A former educator, published writer and lecturer, Rivenbark created and hosted the cable television show “Southern Heirlooms with Ken Rivenbark.” He is a graduate of Leadership Huntsville/Madison County (Class 22) and has served on various non-profit boards in the Huntsville area.
Rivenbark joining the NSBA Leadership Council is part of his efforts to tackle the many important issues facing small business, including tax reform, regulatory restraint, health care costs and how Obama Care impact small business. The NSBA Leadership Council is focused on providing valuable networking between small- business advocates from across the country while ensuring small business a seat at the table as Congress and regulators take up key small-business proposals.
“I am proud to have Dr. Ken Rivenbark as part of our Leadership Council,” NSBA President and CEO Todd McCracken stated. “He came to us highly recommended and I look forward our coordinated efforts for years to come.”
Rivenbark has been appointed to serve on the council’s Economic Development Committee and Health and Human Resources Committee.
