Huntsville could become home to a new football team

The Rocket City may be getting a brand new football team very soon.

The International Football Alliance, which will have teams both in Mexico and the United States, is planning on bringing the Alabama Beavers to Huntsville, the team announced via social media:

The league, which is not scheduled to kick off until 2025, will reportedly have teams in Las Vegas, Tampa Bay, Dallas, Chihuahua, Cancun, Guadalajara and Portland.

The IFA describes its mission as “bridging the gap in international professional football by delivering the highest level of American Football within Mexico and the United States.”

No information was shared beyond the post on social media from the team and News 19 in Huntsville has not yet received a confirmation from the city of the team’s plans.

While it seems there are still further steps to be taken, it appears for now that the Yellowhammer State will soon have a new professional football team to cheer on.
