Hubbard Hires Rachel Adams to Head Communications Office

Rachel Adams
Alabama Speaker of the House Mike Hubbard on Monday announced that Rachel Adams, a veteran of political public relations who has worked in national presidential campaigns and a highly-regarded D.C. consulting firm, will serve as his office’s communications director beginning in early December.

Adams replaces Todd Stacy, who recently left the Speaker’s Office to lead communications for Alabama Second District Congresswoman Martha Roby in Washington.

“I am confident that Rachel’s years of communications and political experience in both the private and public sectors will be a tremendous asset to our team,” Hubbard said. “The Legislature will continue working to implement much needed and long overdue reforms in how Alabama’s state government operates, and Rachel will play a large role in ensuring the public understands exactly what we are doing and why we are doing it.”

Adams was most recently employed as the Republican National Committee’s Victory Communications Director in the battleground state of North Carolina where she supplemented the efforts of the Romney for President campaign.

Prior to her work in the 2012 presidential campaign cycle, she was employed as a senior account executive at Vox Global, a bipartisan public affairs and strategic communications firm with extensive government, political, private sector and nonprofit experience. Working in the firm’s Washington, D.C. headquarters, Adams serviced the communications needs of clients that included Fortune 500 companies and other corporate entities.

During the 2008 presidential campaign, Adams served as field staffer for Senator John McCain’s presidential bid in Missouri and helped implement a grass roots campaign that captured the battleground state for Republicans.

Adams holds a bachelor’s of journalism from the University of Missouri.
