State Rep. Frances Holk-Jones (R-Foley) held off a well-funded challenge from FarmPAC-backed Joe Freeman on Tuesday to keep her House District 95 seat in South Baldwin County.

Holk-Jones carried 52.3% of the vote to Freeman’s 47.7%, winning 3,091 to 2,811 in unofficial returns. The margin of 280 votes settled one of the sharpest intra-party fights of the 2026 primary cycle.

“Thank you District 95! YOU did it!” Holk-Jones wrote on social media after the results came in.

The race became a proxy fight over the Alabama Farmers Federation’s political arm, FarmPAC, which endorsed Freeman and accounted for roughly 61% of his campaign contributions. Freeman, a Gulf Shores financial adviser and former law enforcement officer, ran on an anti-gambling platform and also carried the endorsement of Orange Beach Mayor Tony Kennon.

Holk-Jones raised nearly $631,000 since 2023, about 79% from political action committees including the Poarch Creek, Alabama Hospital and Forestry PACs.

Holk-Jones led the May 19 primary with 42% to Freeman’s 39% in a three-way field that also included Elijah Davidson.

House District 95 covers Foley, Gulf Shores, Orange Beach, Elberta, Perdido Beach and surrounding communities in South Baldwin County. Holk-Jones faces no Democratic opponent in November.
