The Alabama Forestry Association has endorsed a Holly Pond native and Cullman area businessman in the upcoming special election for the state’s House District 11 seat. The seat recently became open after Randall Shedd stepped down to join the office of Alabama’s newly-elected Alabama Senate President Pro Tem, Garlan Gudger, after over ten years in the position.
The organization announced its support of Allbright on Monday morning.
“AFA is pleased to have a forest industry professional running for the House of Representatives,” said Chris Isaacson, President & CEO of AFA. “Heath’s experience as a business owner, as well as his service on the Cullman County Board of Education, provides him a
deep understanding of the issues and challenges facing Alabama’s rural communities. This experience will make him an effective advocate for small businesses and the communities that depend on their success.”

Allbright, who owns Brighton Forestry Services and has been active with the group for several years, expressed his gratitude to AFA and stressed that he will be a strong advocate for the state’s timber industry if elected.
“It’s an honor to be endorsed by the Alabama Forestry Association,” said Allbright. “As the owner of a small business in the timber industry, I know the major impact forestry has on our state, the jobs it creates, and the families it supports. I will work each day to ensure Alabama’s
forest products industry is protected from overregulation and supported in every way possible so they can continue serving as one of our state’s largest industries.”
Allbright was also recently endorsed by Alabama Lt. Governor Will Ainsworth shortly after announcing his candidacy.
According to the governor’s office, the special primary election for Tuesday, May 13, 2025, the special primary runoff, if necessary, for Tuesday, June 10, 2025, and the special general election is on Tuesday, August 26, 2025.
