Griffith vows not to accept ‘taxpayer funded health insurance’ until ObamaCare is repealed

On Friday afternoon, Republican congressional hopeful Wells Griffith unveiled a new radio spot pledging to not accept “a taxpayer funded health insurance plan” until President Barack Obama’s 2009 health care reform law is ended.

In the commercial, the Griffith campaign takes an aggressive tack in opposition to the Obama administration.

“He’ll shut down the Obama agenda, protect our constitutional freedoms, cut spending and balance the budget,” the ad says. “He’ll fight for a fairer tax code that will invest in job creators, and audit the IRS. Wells will demand that our borders are secure. No excuses. No amnesty. And until Obamacare is ended, Wells Griffith will refuse to take a taxpayer funded health insurance plan. Wells Griffith – he’s got the courage to stand up to Obama. And the conservative principles we need in Washington.”

Griffith pointed out the hypocrisy of current members of congress choosing to exempt themselves from the president’s healthcare law, while the American people don’t have that same option.

“It’s a disgrace that Congress chose to exempt themselves from Obamacare,” Griffith said. “I won’t play that game, and until Obamacare is defunded and off the books I won’t accept healthcare benefits given to members of Congress. Members of Congress should have to play by the same rules as everyone else. Defunding Obamacare will be a top priority, and I promise to fight for repeal every day to make sure that nobody has to deal with the new taxes, regulations, and burdens that Obamacare contains.”YH Wells Griffith
