GOP delegation says border ‘not under control’

Alabama’s Republican congressional delegation once again criticized the Biden administration’s border policies after a report revealed around 2,200 people illegally entered Texas from Mexico in just one night.

U.S. Rep. Gary Palmer (R-Hoover) reacted to the report saying, “The Biden Administration says that everything is under control. This is not under control. Our southern border is in crisis.”

Palmer was referring to Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas saying the border was under “operational control” during a hearing this year.

U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Huntsville) also called out the administration over failing to secure the border.

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) said this is just another example of Biden “pouring fuel on the fire.”

U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) used the report as a call to action to “secure the border now.”

Tuberville and Britt also joined 25 of their Senate colleagues today in introducing the Secure the Border Act, the Senate’s companion bill to the House of Representatives’ H.R. 2.
