State Sen. Sam Givhan is feeling good about Republican’s chances for a victory in November at the ballot box, regardless of the Democrat candidate.
Givhan (R-Huntsville) joined The Dale Jackson Show last week to discuss the upcoming election and why he thinks the GOP is poised to secure the White House.
Battleground states, according to Givhan, will play a deciding factor as always.
“Even if we were to lose Georgia, which I don’t think we will, Nevada is a real toss up,” said Givhan. “Arizona, I think it’s a real toss up. If we can pull Pennsylvania and either Michigan or Wisconsin, I think the Republicans have won this thing.”
Givhan said Republican Vice Presidential Candidate will play a substantial role in helping to connect with certain blocks of voters.
“I think that JD Vance is there because he has an appeal to the working class, which the Republican Party has not paid enough attention to. And they share our values. I think JD Vance reaches out to them and that is the campaign plan.”
If one specific region of the country can be completely won by the Republican Party, Givhan believes a victory for Donald Trump will be practically assured.
“If we win the Rust Belt, there’s just no chance for the Democrats to win this election.”
Data from the post below shows that Kamala Harris, the all-but-assured Democratic nominee in the presidential election, faces a significant uphill battle in the Rust Belt.
Guys, Trump needs to gain *1 point* among American white voters from 2020 (when he underperformed among whites) to win Wisconsin, Arizona and Georgia.
Kamala will NOT bode well for the Rust Belt, which is dominated by white seniors and working class. This was a benefit Biden… pic.twitter.com/KkVmmcinw6
