With incumbent Rick Pate term-limited and now running for lieutenant governor in 2026, the Republican field for Alabama’s Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries is wide open.

Three GOP contenders, Jack Williams, Christina Woerner McInnis, and Corey Hill, are vying for the role, each building their financial position ahead of the May 19, 2026, primary. According to campaign finance reports filed with the Alabama Secretary of State’s Campaign Finance Division, all three candidates have reported substantial financial activity since July 31, 2025.

State Sen. Jack Williams (R-Wilmer), a four-term lawmaker, leads the field in available campaign funds.

As of July 31, he had $509,774.17 in cash on hand. Williams loaned his campaign $250,000 and transferred about $262,000 from a previous Senate campaign account. He also raised approximately $77,000 in new contributions. His campaign reports $79,823.25 in expenditures to date.

Business owner Christina Woerner McInnis of Baldwin County has also loaned her campaign $250,000, distributed in five $50,000 installments. She has raised an additional $195,213.68 in contributions.

As of the end of July, McInnis reported spending $222,346.03, leaving her with $186,664.27 in available funds.

Farmer and Douglas Mayor Corey Hill has loaned his campaign $40,000 and raised approximately $70,553.00 in contributions. Hill has spent $6,998.00 and reports having $103,555.00 in cash on hand.

While fundraising helps candidates reach voters through advertising and events, endorsements from influential organizations can be equally valuable.

All three candidates have already earned high-profile endorsements. The Alabama Forestry Association has endorsed Williams. McInnis secured support from the Alabama Associated General Contractors. Hill recently received the backing of the Alabama Grocers Association.

One of the most coveted endorsements in this race — from the Alabama Farmers Federation — has yet to be announced.
