Auburn football fans may have something to be excited about.
Head Coach Hugh Freeze has had tremendous success in recruiting talent to the Plains in just a little more than two months.
In the class of 2023 alone, 20 recruits have signed with the Tigers. The team will also benefit from 12 transfers next season.
Freeze, however, is not just looking at 2023’s recruiting class.
“I really believe the 2024 and 2025 class will determine our success or not,” he said. “We have to hustle and nail those two classes with the right type of players that fit our culture.”
The Tigers surprisingly landed as the No. 17 overall recruiting class and notched a No. 5 overall spot for transfer classes.
Freeze discussed what he thinks is drawing recruits to the school.
“I think Auburn sells itself,” he said. “There are only, what, four to five schools that have played for two national championships for the last 12 years?
“Auburn is one of them and, you know, I think it’s somewhere that the right type of people can come in and restore the Auburn tradition of winning and, you know, our community and the campus, the people, I think, is a great environment and people sense that when they come now.”
