The Jacksonville State University Gamecocks might just have one of the best broadcasting teams in the entire country.
Bill Bussey, who has taken over as Jax State’s assistant athletics director for broadcasting, announced on the Rick & Bubba Show this week that former UAB and Jax State head football coach Bill Clark will begin joining the newly-hired Eli Gold on the Gamecocks’ football broadcasts this season.
Last month, it was announced that Clark would be hosting a weekly show on WJOX in Birmingham, and now it appears Clark will be calling games as well.

Clark spent six seasons as UAB’s head coach and oversaw by far the most successful tenure in program history. Before UAB, he spent one season at JSU, where he led the Gamecocks to an 11-4 record.
Gold had been the voice of the Crimson Tide since 1988 before the two sides controversially parted ways this offseason, something Gold said was not his decision. Shortly after that news broke, Gold announced he had been hired by JSU to call various athletic events including football.
Clark and Gold will call at least two games together, both home games for the Gamecocks against Southern Mississippi on September 21 and Florida International on November 16.
