Former U.S. Attorney Jay Town joining Newsmax as legal analyst

Former U.S. Attorney Jay Town recently announced that he has been hired by Newsmax as a legal analyst.

The one-time federal prosecutor, who was appointed to a position within the U.S. Department of Justice by President Donald Trump in 2017, posted about his new job with the media company on X.

“Some news: I’m proud to announce I will be joining the NEWSMAX team as a Legal Analyst,” said Town. “My thanks to CEO Chris Ruddy and Greta Van Susteren, and so many others at Newsmax for affording me this opportunity across their entire network and platform! Let’s go!”

Prior to announcing his new role with Newsmax, Town was the Vice President & General Counsel at Gray Analytics. He served as legal counsel to the company and convened with its leadership on matters of daily business.

Town worked as a judge advocate in the U.S. Marine Corps and was also a senior prosecutor in the Madison County District Attorney’s Office from 2005 until his confirmation as U.S. Attorney. He played an integral role in forming the Madison County Veterans Court and served in the U.S. Marine Corps for 12 years. Town was honorably discharged in 2008, attaining the rank of major.
