Tucker Carlson has been all over the news as of late.
However, the former Fox News commentator is carrying on with business as usual and business as usual includes an upcoming stop in the Yellowhammer State.
Carlson will be speaking Thursday in Oxford for Rainbow Omega, a faith-based non-profit organization in Eastaboga that provides vocational and residential programs to adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. His appearance at the Oxford Performing Arts Center is a main fund-raising event for the organization.
Tim Hodge, CEO of Rainbow Omega, said he is looking forward to the event.
“The annual dinner is something we’ve had for many years,” he said. “It’s our primary fund-raising event. So, we’re always excited about the potential to introduce Rainbow Omega to individuals, tell them about our mission, and explain to them the services we provide.”
While Fox’s ratings may have dropped since Carlson’s firing, ticket sales have gone up for Thursday’s event.
“We actually booked him last fall,” said Hodge. “There was an increase in ticket sales after the decision was made for him and Fox to part ways.”
“So the last couple of weeks we have had a pretty significant increase in ticket sales.”
Tickets range from $50-$125 and can be purchased at wwww.oxfordpac.org. All proceeds from the event will go to Rainbow Omega.
“The fundraising dinner is always a major boost for us every year as far as meeting our” budget,” Hodge said. “We are primarily privately funded so donations, fund raising events, supportive individuals, and churches are really how we fund our operation.”
