Forbes names Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama one of nation’s 100 best midsize employers

Forbes has named Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama (BCBSA) one of “America’s 2022 100 Best Midsize Employers.”

BCBSA was ranked 91st in Forbes’ “Top 500 Midsize Employers” nationwide list and was the only insurance organization to be land the recognition in the Yellowhammer State.

The highly-coveted award is presented by Forbes and globally-recognized statistics portal and insurance ranking provider, Statista, Inc. According to a release, Forbes and Statista’s independent survey applied to around 60,000 American workers employed at companies with more than 1,000 employees.

BCBSA president and CEO Tim Vines praised the insurance provider’s commitment to fostering a well-respected work environment.

“It is a true honor to be named one of our nation’s top 100 best midsize employers. What makes this recognition even more meaningful is knowing this is the result of feedback from our own employees,” stated Vines. “We are committed to providing a healthy and positive work environment for our employees who work hard every day to take exceptional care of our customers.”

The evaluation was based on recommendations from employees who rated their willingness to recommend their employers to friends and family. Additionally, employee evaluations included other employers within the same industry as their current employer.

This marks the fourth year that BCBSA has been rated as a best employer in Forbes’ midsize category. BCBSA has twice been recognized by the magazine as one of the nation’s best employers for diversity.
