The University of Alabama has added an international player to its 2024 football recruiting class. Justin Okoronkwo, a linebacker from Fürstenfeldbruck, Germany, is the Tide’s 11th official recruit for the upcoming class.
Okoronkwo had originally verbally committed to play for Maryland, but decommited from the Terps and announced his new intentions via Twitter.

The newly recruited linebacker took part in a recent interview with On3 Sports.
“The culture is one-of-a-kind,” Okoronkwo said. “‘Bama is exactly what you expect it to be. I like the culture that’s at Bama. It’s a place where everybody goes to compete to be the very best.”
Okoronkwo is 6-foot-3 and weight 225 pounds. He has competed in organized football for just three years but has reportedly clocked a 4.54-second 40-yard dash.
The linebacker is not the first international commit in recent team history. This year, Finnish offensive lineman Olaus Alinen signed with the Tide. In 2022, Australian punter James Burnip also joined the program.
