Agents with the Gulf of America Homeland Security Task Force conducted an immigration raid Wednesday morning on the future site of Loxley Elementary in Baldwin County.
NBC News 15 in Mobile reported that eleven workers on the site were arrested and taken into custody, with witnesses saying that multiple unmarked vehicles took part in the operation.

Shortly after news broke of the arrests, the Baldwin County Public School System’s Superintendent, Eddie Tyler, offered a statement to the public addressing the operation that took place on system property.
“Baldwin County Public Schools is cooperating with federal investigators following a raid at the new Loxley Elementary School construction site,” said Tyler. “Our contracts with our construction projects require compliance with federal law. At this time, we have no indication of any wrongdoing. We remain committed to transparency and accountability in all of our operations.”
The arrests mark the second time in a month that federal authorities have raided the site of a future school in the Baldwin County area. Just last month, agents took 36 illegals into custody at the future site of Gulf Shores High School.
