(Video above: The Burton’s Christmas lights display)
Fayetteville, Georgia resident Robert Burton isn’t one to sync his Christmas lights to the typical background music. Sure, he did “Jingle Bells” and “God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen” when he was first getting started, but he’s since moved on to songs that normally get identified with Christmas, like “Ghostbusters” and “Thriller.”
But in 2013, the Burtons first felt like it was time to make their college football allegiance known to the world.
Backing up their most epic Christmas display yet — which includes well over 30,000 lights — the Burtons chose to sync the lights to the radio broadcast of Chris Davis’ Iron Bowl-winning return followed by the War Eagle fight song.
The original video of the display went viral, and they’re back with an updated display this year.
The Burton’s Christmas Spectacular has become so famous they’ve partnered with a local radio station to broadcast the backing track so people can tune in and listen to the synced music as they drive by. Their neighborhood has been gridlocked on most weekends since they rolled out the latest show last month.
