The search for 2-year-old Genesis Reid, an Enterprise toddler, remains active as authorities continue investigating the disappearance of the child and pursue leads with assistance from multiple law enforcement agencies.

According to the Enterprise Police Department, Genesis was reported missing at approximately 3:10 a.m. on February 16, when her mother, Adrienne Reid, told officers the child was gone and the front door of their residence was open.

Police said initial searches of the surrounding area did not locate the child, and investigators have since expanded search efforts using specialized resources.

Adrienne Reid, 33, has been charged with false reporting to law enforcement authorities, a Class C felony. She appeared before Coffee County District Judge Josh Wilson for an initial hearing, where bond was set at $1 million cash only.

Reid remains in custody at the Coffee County Jail unless bond is posted.

During court proceedings, prosecutors argued for the higher bond amount, citing concerns about the seriousness of the investigation and the need to ensure Reid’s continued presence during the legal process.

Authorities emphasized that the charge stems from inconsistencies investigators identified during the course of the investigation into Genesis’ disappearance.

Meanwhile, search operations remain ongoing. The Enterprise Police Department, with assistance from East Alabama Canine Search and Rescue, deployed a certified cadaver canine to search wooded and surrounding areas near the child’s residence. Police said the search did not yield any items of evidentiary value.

Investigators described the canine deployment as a standard procedure used to rule out areas near the residence and said they continue to conduct targeted searches and follow credible leads.

Multiple agencies are assisting in the investigation, including the Federal Bureau of Investigation, U.S. Marshals Service, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency, Coffee County Sheriff’s Office, and the Coffee County District Attorney’s Office.

Authorities also confirmed they are examining information involving several persons of interest, though police emphasized that such individuals are not necessarily suspects and may have information relevant to the investigation.

Officials are asking anyone who had contact with Adrienne Reid between December 24, 2025, and February 16, 2026, or who may have information about Genesis’ whereabouts, to contact the Enterprise Police Department.

Police have also placed digital billboards in the area to raise awareness and encourage tips from the public.

Law enforcement officials said the investigation remains active and their primary focus is locating Genesis Reid and bringing her home safely.

Anyone with information is urged to contact the Enterprise Police Department at (334) 347-2222.
