‘Enough is enough’: Katie Britt calls for the end of funding sanctuary cities

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) thinks it’s time for Congress to prevent sanctuary cities from getting in the way of enforcing federal immigration law.

Britt joined several Republican lawmakers in the U.S. Senate in telling Fox News that it’s time for legislation to pull funding from sanctuary cities like Los Angeles.

“We have to say, ‘Enough is enough,’” Britt said. “I don’t understand why we would continue to give federal dollars to someone who doesn’t abide by federal law. I mean, think about that. That is very simple.”

Britt’s reaction comes in response to the riots that occurred in Los Angeles over lawful immigration raids.

“What a sanctuary city says is, ‘You can commit a crime, we will allow for lawlessness, and we will not turn you over to the federal authorities.’ I mean, think about that,” she argued. “That is absolute insanity, and we’re not going to stand for it anymore.”

The senator also connected border security issues to current terror threats from Iran.

“The Biden Administration knowingly released Iranian illegal aliens into the interior of our country for four years. Open border policies don’t just threaten our communities, they put our national security at risk.”
