Early public poll shows Hudson ahead of competitors in Mobile mayoral race

A newly released public poll from an independent third-party news organization shows a clear favorite in the upcoming Mobile mayoral race. According to a two-day analysis with over 3,600 votes counted, Mobile County Commissioner Connie Hudson holds a significant lead over her fellow competitors with 41% of the vote.

“The poll results confirm what supporters have been saying for months: Connie Hudson is ready to lead on day one,” said Aqualyn Kennedy, Hudson Campaign Communications Director. “Connie’s proven success in creating jobs, supporting law enforcement, and delivering quality-of-life projects demonstrates her vision to grow Mobile into the city of our dreams. She will continue to show all of Mobile why you can count on Connie.”

Should she win, Hudson has pledged to focus on building new neighborhoods, enhancing public safety, improving infrastructure, and fostering economic growth in the Port City.

Hudson’s campaign is promoting her extensive experience and proven leadership, with a focus on economic development, public safety, and quality-of-life improvements. Her tenure as County Commissioner has been marked by significant achievements, including attracting major employers like Airbus and Amazon and spearheading community projects such as Mobile’s soccer complex, aquatics center, and senior centers.

State Rep. Barbara Drummond (D-Mobile) filed to run for the position of Mayor on Friday after the poll had already been conducted.

The poll results can be found here.

The Mobile mayoral election is scheduled for August 26.
