Members of Alabama’s GOP Congressional are criticizing Democrats’ soft on crime policies after the release of a video showing a young girl being murdered in Charlotte North Carolina.

Last week, video was released showing the brutal killing of Ukrainian refugee Iryna Zarutska on a North Carolina train.

Attorney General Pam Bondi said that the DOJ will seek the maximum penalty Decarlos Dejuan Brown Jr. for the alleged murder of Zartuska.

“She was slaughtered by a deranged monster, who was roaming free after 14 prior arrests,” President Donald Trump said in the video released Tuesday. “We cannot allow a depraved criminal element of violent repeat offenders to continue spreading destruction and death throughout our country. We have to respond with force and strength. We have to be vicious, just like they are. It’s the only thing they understand.”

U.S. Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Auburn) called the attack “despicable,” and criticized the media for initially not covering the story.

U.S. Sen. Katie Britt (R-Montgomery) said this killer should have never been let out onto the streets and blamed Democrats for their soft on crime policies.

U.S. Rep. Barry Moore (R-Enterprise) said Democrats need to learn from this and adopt Trump’s policies on crime.
