DeBoer on tough schedule for Alabama: ‘That’s life in the SEC’

The Alabama Crimson Tide are facing yet another massive and difficult challenge this week coming off two huge wins on the road against Georgia and at home against Vanderbilt.

This week, it’s the No. 14 ranked Missouri Tigers and a trip to Columbia for an 11:00 a.m. kickoff in front of a very loud crowd going up against a quarterback who is as effective in the air as he is on the ground. Not to mention a running back who is one of the best in all of college football.

While it would be easy to complain about the difficulty of the schedule, Kalen DeBoer used his “Final Word” in this week’s edition of Hey Coach to express his lack of surprise at the gauntlet, stating that this is just reality in the conference.

“I’m excited about the next opportunity,” DeBoer began.

“This is our third game in a row in the conference against a ranked opponent and that’s life in the SEC. Our guys understand that, what it takes the last couple weeks, and they know it’s gonna take that and then some going on the road. It’s gonna be a physical game, we gotta be ready to play right off the bat with kickoff.”

The Tide will kick off at 11:00 a.m. CST on ABC in what is their biggest game — and potentially biggest challenge — of the season sop far. Time will tell if DeBoer and his staff have the team ready for it.
