The Alabama Crimson Tide earned yet another huge victory over the weekend with their fourth consecutive win over a ranked opponent, becoming the first team in SEC history to ever accomplish that feat.
After taking a whole lot of heat early in the season following the loss to Florida State, Kalen DeBoer has this team absolutely humming and starting to reach its full potential. According to the man himself though, they still aren’t even close to that and have a ways to go in order to reach their best.
In his weekly press conference ahead of another road test at South Carolina, DeBoer said his team hasn’t even played its best game yet.
“We gotta make sure that we understand we’re gonna be walking into an environment that will get on you in a hurry if you don’t bring your best,” DeBoer said of South Carolina. “The preparation, the investment of your time and energy throughout the week leading to a confidence and an excitement to go out there and make plays and be our best. I still challenge the guys and they believe it that the world hasn’t seen Bama’s best yet. And that’s really what we’re striving to do, and when you keep it as simple as possible on that, have great preparation, and everyone caring about what we’re trying to accomplish, you have that edge.”
Whether or not Bama’s best comes this week remains to be seen, but DeBoer is going to need his team on top of things against a quarterback like LaNorris Sellers and his Gamecocks.
It’s another test for an Alabama team which seems to be getting better and better every week and striving towards that goal of being the best possible version of themselves.
