Instructor Paula Carroll’s Medical Science II students from the DeKalb County Technology Center (DCTC) gave a presentation on employability skills recently at the HH DeKalb Regional Medical Center (HH DRMC). The presentation, part of a larger project, emphasized the importance of having an employee retention program that will improve employee performance, lower errors, and promote team collaboration, leading to job longevity/retention.

Carroll wanted her students to make an authentic connection with the healthcare business and industry in the area.

“I am excited by the deepened partnership and believe it will benefit the hospital and its students, who represent the hospital’s next generation of employees,” she stated.

Ryan Tramel, Director Of Professional Outreach/Occupational Health at DeKalb Regional Medical Center, thanked the students for their informative presentation.

“We greatly appreciate the time and effort DCTC’s Medical Science class spent providing us with valuable information about the importance of employee retention.”

HH DRMC and DCTC collaborated on the 30-day project, adding to DCTC’s already existing partnership with HH DRMC.
