Dale Strong at Trump trial: ‘It’s election interference at a level never seen before’

U.S. Rep. Dale Strong (R-Monrovia) was one of several guests to stand with former President Donald Trump outside of the courthouse in New York City Tuesday.

The defense rested Tuesday in Trump’s “hush money trial,” with the former president not taking the witness stand. The jury is set to start deliberations next Wednesday following Memorial Day.

“I wanted to come here and see it myself so the common people of this country can understand what’s going on: It’s election interference at a level never seen before,” Strong said outside the courthouse. “We’re keeping a candidate that is leading the Republican Party from campaigning throughout this country.”

Strong argued that Trump would rather be talking about the issues instead focusing on his prosecutions.

“He wants to talk about inflation,” he said. “He wants to talk about fuel prices throughout this country. He wants to talk about why interest rates for those that are wanting to build homes is at 6%-7%, and people can’t reach their dreams. Let’s just put it what it is: This is election interference at the highest level so that this candidate cannot tell his story throughout this country, but I’m going to tell you right now. The American people see right through it.”

The Congressman was joined by Donald Trump, Jr., Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi, and former acting Attorney General Matt Whitaker.

“I was proud to stand with President Trump today,” Strong said on his Facebook account. “The American people know that this trial is about politics and not justice. It is just one more step in the Biden plan to attack and damage President Trump. The Democrats cannot win an election that is fair and honest so they have weaponized our court system to try and do what they cannot do at the ballot box.”
