Conecuh sausage lovers rejoice: Millie Ray and Sons roll out breakfast treat

If you are a Conecuh sausage fan, the food giant has some good news for you.

The company recently released a new fresh breakfast patty courtesy of a collaboration with Alabama-based Millie Ray and Sons, a producer of orange and cinnamon rolls. For the new item, the biscuit will be from Millie Ray’s, and the sausage will be from Conecuh.

Ryan Ray, co-owner of Millie Ray’s, told Southern Living his company has been busy filling orders for the new products since they became available this month.

“It’s been really wild,” he said. “We launched two weeks ago now, and it has just been busy since day one. We got more phone calls from people asking if we could do a sausage roll. They’d say, ‘Y’all gotta do one.'”

Ray said the new partnership will help Millie Ray’s gain more notoriety.

“Everybody is familiar with Conecuh sausage, and a lot of people are familiar with us, as well,” said Ray. “But we’re reaching new people with Conecuh on the box and we’re working as hard as we can to get them out there.”

On week one alone, the company used 400 pounds of sausage, then 800 pounds. For the next batch, they’ve just ordered 1,600 pounds.

Conecuh also recently released its sausage links, which are available at Piggly Wiggly, Sherwood Foods, and Associated Grocers.
