Coastal 150 and its affiliated political arm, Coastal PAC, have endorsed Doug Harwell in his campaign for Alabama State Senate District 34, one of the open legislative seats in coastal Alabama in the 2026 election cycle.
The Senate District 34 seat is open in 2026 because State Sen. Jack Williams (R-Wilmer), who has represented the district since 2018, is running for Alabama Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries instead of seeking re-election.
Harwell is running in the Republican primary scheduled for May 19 and faces former State Sen. Rusty Glover (R-Mobile). The winner of the primary will advance to the general election.
“A great start to the morning at Greer’s Markets as Coastal 150 officially endorsed my campaign for Alabama State Senate, District 34,” Harwell said. “I’m grateful to be surrounded by leaders who care deeply about the future of our Gulf Coast and share a commitment to growing our economy and supporting local businesses.”
“This endorsement means a great deal, and I’m thankful for their confidence as we continue pushing for strong leadership, economic growth, and real results for District 34 and our entire region,” he added. “Let’s keep building momentum.”
Coastal 150 is a regional advocacy organization representing business and community stakeholders in Baldwin and Mobile counties. Its political arm, Coastal PAC, engages in candidate endorsements focused on economic growth, infrastructure investment, and workforce development priorities.
Coastal PAC’s endorsement is part of its first round of candidate selections for the 2026 election cycle. Additional endorsements are expected in the coming months.
