Coastal PAC endorsements are shaping several key coastal Alabama Republican primary races, with the business‑backed political organization announcing its first round of legislative endorsements ahead of the May 19, 2026, primary election.
Coastal 150 and its affiliated political arm, Coastal PAC, endorsed incumbent legislators State Sen. Chris Elliott (R-Daphne), State Sen. Greg Albritton (R-Atmore), State Rep. Chris Pringle (R-Mobile), State Rep. Matt Simpson (R-Daphne), and State Rep. Frances Holk-Jones (R-Foley), along with Doug Harwell, who is running for the open Alabama Senate District 34 seat.
“These leaders understand that Coastal Alabama is an economic driver for our state, and they have consistently supported policies that strengthen our Port, protect our natural resources, improve infrastructure, and expand workforce opportunities,” said George Talbot, Chairman of the Coastal 150 Board of Directors.
“Coastal 150 is proud to endorse candidates who recognize the strategic importance of our region and are committed to ensuring it continues to grow and compete at the highest level.”
Two of the endorsed candidates face Republican primary opposition. Harwell is running against former State Sen. Rusty Glover (R-Mobile) in the Senate District 34 primary.
Incumbent State Rep. Matt Simpson (R-Daphne) faces Republican challenger Danielle Duggar in House District 96. The remaining endorsed candidates — State Sen. Chris Elliott (R-Daphne), State Sen. Greg Albritton (R-Atmore), State Rep. Chris Pringle (R-Mobile), and State Rep. Frances Holk-Jones (R-Foley) — are incumbent lawmakers running unopposed in the Republican primary.
Coastal 150 represents business and community stakeholders across Baldwin and Mobile counties and evaluates candidates based on their commitment to policies supporting economic growth, infrastructure investment, and workforce development. Coastal PAC engages in candidate endorsements to advance those priorities.
Alabama’s Republican primary election will be held May 19, 2026. Additional endorsements may be announced later in the election cycle.
