Club for Growth drops $2.3M on Alabama U.S. Senate race, Announces TV spot tying Katie Britt to Liz Cheney, Terri Sewell

Tuesday, Club for Growth Action, the super PAC of Washington, D.C.-based Club for Growth, announced a $2.3 million TV and mail ad blitz beginning Wednesday and continuing over the next 10 weeks.

Club for Growth, who has endorsed U.S. Rep. Mo Brooks’ (R-Huntsville) U.S. Senate candidacy, will run two ads, one statewide and another in the Birmingham market.

The statewide ad claims Brooks’ opponent, former Business Council of Alabama head Katie Britt, is “an anti-Trump lobbyist” and ties Britt to U.S. Reps. Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) and Terri Sewell (D-Birmingham).

“There’s Liz Cheney trashing Trump again,” the ad announcer says. “She didn’t say that when she was voting before, just like Katie Britt. See, Britt might not say it, but she’s really a lobbyist. And the special interest group she ran endorsed liberal Democrat Terri Sewell, who voted to impeach Trump and backed Nancy Pelosi against the Trump agenda.”

“Like Donald Trump, Jr. said, Katie Britt is the Alabama Liz Cheney,” the narrator adds.

The other ad, seen in the Birmingham market, will highlight Trump’s endorsement of Brooks.
