Each year, Christian leaders and citizens convene a prayer rally on the steps of the Alabama State House early in the new annual legislative session.

The 2026 prayer rally will be held outside the State House building on Wednesday, January 21 from 11:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. on this second week of the 2026 regular session.

Members of the public can join with other Christians at the rally. No ticket, no charge and no reservations are needed. Parking is limited due to legislative committee meetings and to construction of the new State House.

The prayer rally is organized by the Alabama Citizens Action Program (ALCAP) and being promoted by Eagle Forum of Alabama.

ALCAP focuses on moral issues, including gambling, legalization of marijuana, and abortion. ALCAP is billed as “Alabama’s Moral Advocates.” They represent close to 3,500 churches as Christian advocates to the Alabama Legislature.

The prayer session is headed by Greg Davis, president of ALCAP since 2022. He serves as a trusted pastoral presence and policy influencer within the halls of the Alabama State House.

Since 2011, Greg has served as host of “Priority Talk,” a popular daily radio show/podcast. The show airs each weekday from 3-5 p.m. on WXJC  101.1 in Birmingham.

ALCAP is an interdenominational ministry founded in 1937  and a 501(c)(4) organization that was “established to lobby the Alabama Legislature on behalf of the faith community.”
