Contour Fabrications and Mechanical (CFM), a provider of mechanical maintenance and reel refurbishment services, is launching a new operation in Cleburne County, marking a milestone in rural industrial growth in Alabama.
The project represents a $7 million investment and is expected to create 20 to 30 jobs, providing a valuable economic boost to the region and enhancing CFM’s ability to serve clients such as Southwire.

“Alabama’s rural communities are playing a vital role in driving our state’s economic future, and CFM’s decision to locate in Cleburne County is proof of that progress,” Governor Kay Ivey said. “With this investment and the jobs it brings, we’re seeing firsthand the positive results of strong partnerships and strategic development tools like the Growing Alabama program.
“I’m proud to welcome CFM to Heflin and excited for what’s ahead for this community.”
Based in Lewisport, Kentucky, CFM has built a reputation for quality service and reliability. The new Heflin facility is designed to expand the company’s capabilities and better support its industrial clients throughout the Southeast.
“We’re glad to open our new facility in Heflin, Alabama,” said Scott Dillback, Co-Owner of CFM. “It will help us serve our clients better and provide jobs for the community.”
The company’s new facility will be strategically located along U.S. Highway 78 in Heflin.
“This new location shows our commitment to quality and growth,” added Jason Young, Co-Owner of CFM. “We look forward to serving Southwire and building connections in Alabama.”
CFM’s decision to invest in Alabama was supported by state and local leaders.

Last month, Governor Ivey officially announced a $2 million allocation from the Growing Alabama program awarded to the Cleburne County Commission to assist with site preparation and infrastructure development.
This strategic funding will help ensure the project’s timely and successful launch.
“CFM’s new facility in Heflin represents the kind of impactful, targeted growth we strive to support through our Catalyst strategy,” said Ellen McNair, Secretary of the Alabama Department of Commerce. “This project not only strengthens Alabama’s industrial base but also brings high-quality jobs to a rural community that is clearly ready for growth.
“We’re proud to support Cleburne County as it builds momentum and positions itself for a bright future,” she added.
Local impact
Local leaders are also celebrating the milestone as a sign of new economic opportunity in the region.
The City of Heflin and Cleburne County Commission have been working with CFM since early 2024, when the company was deciding between Alabama or Georgia for its new location. The new location will serve Southwire at both its West Georgia and Heflin locations.
“This is a proud moment for Cleburne County,” Commissioner Laura Cobb said. “We are excited to welcome CFM Industries and grateful for the jobs and economic vitality they bring to our community.”
Construction and site work are set to begin in September, with a groundbreaking ceremony also scheduled for next month. Operations are expected to commence in early 2026.
Mayor Robby Brown, who assisted in the recruitment of the company, said the growth project is ideal for Heflin.
“I have enjoyed working with CFM over the past year and look forward to them becoming a part of Heflin,” he added.
