With elections just around the corner, Republican candidate for Alabama’s 2nd Congressional District, Caroleene Dobson, is making sure that voters know where she stands on the subject of IVF treatments and procedures.
“I am proudly pro-life and believe strongly that helping women and couples so create, nurture, and bring new life into the world is the textbook definition of being pro-life,” Dobson said. “IVF services build families, bring fulfillment to couples who struggle to conceive, and keep the promise of Psalms 127:3, which tells us that ‘Children are a heritage from the Lord, and the fruit of the womb is His reward.”
After months of Democrats distorting Republicans’ views, Dobson felt compelled to reiterate not only her support for IVF but also the support of her fellow Alabamian Senator Katie Britt.
Britt, who recently introduced a bill to safeguard access to the method of reproductive care, has accused the left of engaging in a “summer of scare tactics” to mislead the public.
“Both Sen. Britt and I have experienced the gift of childbirth and motherhood, and we understand that women who struggle to conceive should have the same opportunity to experience the joy that they bring,” Dobson clarified. “The protection of access to IVF has my firm, full, one hundred percent support and commitment.”
The GOP nominee also gave her take on how abortion policy should be decided and by whom.
“I have always believed that laws governing abortion are best left to the individual states to decide based upon the morals, values, and beliefs of the citizens who live there.”
“Compassionate exemptions should always be put in place for cases of rape, incest, and when the life of the mother is at risk.”
