Business Council of Alabama names Michelle Hopson director of finance

The Business Council of Alabama (BCA) has announced the hire of Michelle Hopson, who will serve as the organization’s director of finance.

According to a release, Hopson will be responsible for overseeing all financial operations and reporting for BCA in this role.

She reportedly joins BCA with 24 years of accounting experience spanning the governmental, non-profit and banking sectors.

“We are thrilled to welcome Michelle Hopson to the team,” BCA president and CEO Katie Boyd Britt said in a statement. “With her expansive knowledge and incredible experience and leadership in the financial industry, she will be a major asset to the team as we continue to serve Alabama’s business community.”

Hopson’s skillsets reportedly include general ledger reconciliation, account analysis, accounts payable, payroll, financial statement preparation, regulatory reporting, budget preparation and analysis, and auditing.

“I am excited to join the team at BCA,” she commented. Hopson also noted that she looks “forward to assisting the members of our great organization.”

A graduate of Troy University with a Bachelors in Accounting and a Masters in Human Resource Management, Hopson is originally from rural Goshen in Pike County. She currently resides in Montgomery.
