Former Auburn University Men’s Basketball Head Coach Bruce Pearl will be in Tuscaloosa on December 4 to speak with college students about his support for a strong U.S.-Israel relationship, the College Republican Federation of Alabama announced on Thursday.
“In recent months, the American-Israeli relationship has quickly become the most talked-about political and policy issue among Gen Z,” CRFA Chairman Riley McArdle said in a news release.
Students have questions about Israel’s close ties to the U.S. and vice-versa, and the CRFA is proud to facilitate healthy discussion on this topic between students and Alabama’s most popular Jewish American.”
“When I first pitched this event to Coach Pearl, he replied simply, ‘ I’m very interested in bringing the truth.’ The CRFA is always honored to facilitate truth, wherever it leads, and we plan to do just that on December 4. I’m very grateful for Coach Pearl’s willingness to speak to college students on this issue.”

The forum with Pearl, one of Alabama’s most well-known Jewish Americans, comes as younger conservatives are split on how much support the United States should lend to Israel.
Pearl, who retired after 11 seasons as Auburn’s men’s basketball coach in September, was named chairman of the U.S. Israel Education Association’s (USIEA) board of directors in April and has long been a staunch supporter of America’s close ties to Israel.
The forum is currently scheduled for December 4 at 8:00 p.m. in the University of Alabama’s North Lawn Hall. The event will be free and open to the public.
According to CRFA, attendees will be screened for security, and a strict no-bag policy will be enforced.
